Santiago, Jul 28 -- A fire broke out on board fishing (general) Polaris II (866 gt, built 1980) at San Vicente, at about 0500, Jul 28. Eight firefighting units were called to the scene and were able to bring the fire under control. Naval personnel also assisted with firefighting operations. The three crew members who were on board the vessel escaped unhurt. According to initial reports, the fire broke out in the accommodation area, affecting the galley, dining area and cabins.
